Infinitum 2025 Updates and Plans
Hello everyone, I know it's been a while since the last update, but I am here to assure everyone that things have been moving faster than ever towards the better ending.
After the last free limited time demo and your feedback we have decided to take two steps back, add more content and remake some of the things done wrong. For this we needed to get a team, but without funding that seemed impossible, which is why we decided to partner with an investor that could fund that, and hire 3 more people to help us with things related to management, animation and development.
Today I would like to announce that we officially achieved that, and the work will start full time for everyone with the first month of the next year. We decided to start after the holidays are over so we can fully focus on developing the game efficiently, during this month we will also finish the planning and organizing we have left so we can smoothly move starting January. Because of all of this we have also just released a small patch with the following changes:
- Halloween props have been removed (finally).
- Dialogue System has been updated to not use the mouse cursor at all, you can now use the scroll wheel to navigate it, which will also help when we port the game for consoles.
- Added keys info inside of the dialogue system to be more beginner friendly.
- Added a few more changeable keybinds and we have also made a category system for those.
- Small UI changes, especially when hovering an interactable object.
Please note many of the current bugs have not been fixed because we plan on redoing a lot of the things inside of the game, which include but are not limited to: Building and Crafting, Interaction, Dialogue, Flashlight and Batteries System as well as rebuilding some of the areas (merging the bunker and the Outpost into only one area to reduce confusion, the Outpost area will also be remade).
Since now we have a bigger team I would also like to mention a few of the things we will do starting with January:
- We will start being more consistent on all social medias, including youtube with devlogs every once in a while, but mainly you will see at least 2 posts every week on tiktok, instagram and twitter, with some exceptions.
- There will be a new alpha every month (on the last day of the month).
- Since we have a full time animator now, you can expect more high quality cutscenes and more realistic interactions between the players and Npcs.
Each month we will have a major goal to complete, I will provide a roadmap for the whole year by the end of January. For January, we decided to fully remake the intro part of the story, as well as the NPC's and NPC's Dialogue system with the Outpost and Bunker as well. I also have a small surprise (which is actually big for the gameplay too) which will change how the main Character interacts with the world. It's a cool feature you don't see in any backrooms game and rarely in any games at all. ^^
In conclusion It's a huge step up for Infinitum, we have a team and funding now and we are ready to jump straight in. We will have weekly videos showcasing the game, and monthly updates and playable updates for all private testers! PS: The first playable version for the gamemode where you can play as an entity and eat your friends will come by the end of February March!
